The 288C was a zigzag model with an aluminium body and an external motor. It uses a horizontal oscillating Apollo hook with drop in plastic bobbin. It incorporates an 4-step butonholer and a horizontal spool pin. The 288C has 11 interchangeable pattern cams which fit under a lift-up flap on the top cover. The feed dogs can be dropped for free motion work. The needle is threaded from Front to Back.

The 2405C 'Facilita' is very similar to the 288C, but has 19 pattern cams.
