Singer 12 'New Family' Sewing Machine

This is probably the best condition early model 12 'New Family' sewing machine that I have come across. The decals are in virtually perfect condition and the bright parts have only the slighest tarnishing.

The machine and case have not been restored (other than normal cleaning). It is all in outstanding genuine original condition, making it ideal for the serious collector who wants a really excellent earlier example of this classic model.

It has virtually no wear to any of the Japanned surfaces and has just one small chip in the front right corner of the bed near to the bobbin winder. The shuttle slide-plate has a particularly clear embossing of the Singer trade mark.

It is complete with its needle, shuttle and bobbin and sews well.

Being a pre-1885 model, it has the earlier style stop motion device, the low bobbin winder and the slide-on case with hinged door.

The mahogany slide-on case and base are in particularly excellent condition. There are no signs of the normal surface bruising or scratching, but just a couple of very minor scuffs on the corners.

Singer 12 New Family Fiddle Base Sewing Machine

The machine is housed in an original wooden slide-on wooden case with a brass handle and a hinged door on the end. There is a key for the lock, but it may not be the original.
