Singer 48K2 Sewing Machine
This beautiful Singer 48K2 machine is complete and sews well.
The 48K machines were ONLY made in the Kilbowie factory in Scotland, and then only in relatively small numbers, compared to most Singer domestic models. They are thus quite rare to find, making them highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts, particularly in USA and Canada where they are not usually found.
The 48K features the very colourful and ornate Ottoman Carnation decals, which makes then particularly attractive as feature decorative pieces, or the centrepiece of a collection.
The enigmatic 48K models were a mix of technologies and design features not normally found in other Singer models. Please see page www.singersewinginfo.co.uk/48 for more details. This example is generally in good cosmetic condition for a machine of this age, but it does have a few minor blemishes and would benefit from a clean. Similarly the bentwood storage case is sound and undamaged, but it does have some light scuff marks that could do wth some attention. Please be sure to click on the images at the bottom of the page to activate the zoom function, so as to better judge the condition.
